During more than a year long before 3/11 Madrid bombings, Judge Garzón ordered surveilance on several islamic people who allegedly were involved in the attacks.
More than 200 tapes were recorded with telephone conversations among many of those who later were accused of taking part in the plot, some of them would have been the masterminds.
So Mr Garzón could have caught most of them much before the massacre, but he didn't.
Why such a Mega Star Judge did not arrest an Al Qaeda cell ploting in Spain?
And the answer is...
He didn't order those tapes to be translated into Spanish, so the Police was intercepting their communications without knowing what they were talking about.
Is it believable?
What's harder to believe is that seven months after the bombings, when those tapes where known to exist after independent investigations and public opinion put an eye on them, Mr Garzón explained it was impossible to hear what had been recorded on them: all of the tapes were irreversibly damaged. After being kept on a special Police unit desk for several months, all of them were irreversibly damaged so as no sound recovering technique could help.
Is it believable?
It rather seems that those tapes had been deliberately damaged by that Police special unit after Mr Garzón direct orders.
If that was the case, Judge Mr Garzón and those policemen obeying him would really be criminals who should be sent to jail.
Is Judge Mr Garzón reliable? Certainly NOT.
